Save more, stress less with ADVANCE.

ADVANCE is a transfer program that helps students earn their bachelor’s degrees with less debt and more confidence. The program starts at Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) and continues at George Mason University with coaching every step of the way.

A smart way to earn a four-year degree without the four-year price tag.

Save More

ADVANCE students can graduate with less debt, saving over $10K in college tuition compared to a traditional bachelor’s degree.
The key is starting one of the 80+ Academic Pathways at NOVA and finishing it at George Mason.
Additionally, transfer students in the ADVANCE Program don’t have to pay the George Mason enrollment deposit and may be eligible for special grants and scholarships to save even more.
“I was able to—at a glance—figure out what classes I needed. It’s been amazing. I have a point of contact—my coach—who knows me and knows what my goals are.”

Stress Less

60% of ADVANCE students are first-generation college graduates.
Not sure how to navigate college? Each Academic Pathway outlines the exact courses that apply toward a bachelor’s degree at George Mason, so your student can make well-informed choices about the classes they take before and after transferring.
Additionally, your student will be paired with an ADVANCE coach to guide them through the transfer process and support their academic success.
Getting comfortable on George Mason’s campus helps smooth your student’s transition. That’s why ADVANCE students are invited to participate in student life and access resources at George Mason University while they’re still at NOVA.
“ADVANCE gave me complete peace of mind. The only problem I need to focus on is going to work and getting good grades. All the white noise in between isn’t an issue as much anymore. That should be how it is.”
